it's not a "poor mans" method, it's the smart method, and you literally use it for confirmation after your expensive tester was inconclusive because of a little wind
Nice that the leak was after the valve at least

So what is the fix for this type of situation 90% efficiency furnace with central A/c?
@@davidbleigh4646 Simply cap off the vent with sheet metal. There's other cold air vents throughout the house. No real need to have one in the unfinished basement. Thanks for the question and for watching.
Thanks. I tried a window and the only cold air return. The draft improved but was still blowing out while the a/c was blowing. It appears there are 2 chimneys in the basement one is sealed off near the new 90% unit. The hot water tank is sealed about 8 foot away on the other stack. The rings on top of the tank are slightly melted. And I checked through the old service metal door on the bottom of the stack. It is still blowing down. I suppose the next step is to check the roof access
@@davidbleigh4646 Ok. Now from that description it sounds like your water heater was not converted to a "B- vent liner" when the furnace was removed from the chimney. The old original chimney liner cannot draft the water heater out properly. A B- vent liner helps assist the drafting up the chimney. Look up B- vent liners. I hope this helps. I hope this helps.
I have an A.O. Williams model that I determine is 37 years old. If it's the elements or thermostat, I'm going to try to repair it.
Yeah just go ahead and touch that bare handed 😂 Hope you didn't touch your face.
Would not touch still water if i were you. Never know whats in that
Are you required to report this to the homeowner or the gas company when you find this?
@@kayshore1620 as a private real estate home inspector I am not required to. However I do notify the homeowner and tag it with orange tape. Thanks for the question and for watching.
There should be two pumps on that sump one lower than the other in case one fails,
Summer getting hotter now. Smh...
Gas company hates when you call and tell them something is bad I've found several regulators not working and the furnace can't light because of to much gas pressure
@@donaldpainter956 oh wow! I believe that. Thanks for watching

The meter and everything before it is the gas companies responsibility. Everything in the house is the homeowners.

This is the coolest summer for the rest of our lives and then next year, and the next, and the next....
No idea how hot my attic is but you instantly start to sweat its hot as hell and my room which is under the attic on the 2nd floor gets to 43c+ and with an AC still gets to 39c+ on really bad days... crazy!
Tile is called drain tile or French drain.
Come to Georgia
you need a couple solar powered vents!
😮🔥🥵
That's why I have an attic fan in mine. My attic hasn't gone over 110.
same when it starts getting cold out side it’s like it pushes the heat inside and would go from 75 to 90 when it’s 65 outside
Is there s way to add a main breaker to this type of panel that does not have a main shut off breaker
Love how you insulated the poured concrete walls, hide all the cracks 😂 block foundation 100%. Concrete always cracks within the first year or 2😂
I have s walkout basement house with poured walls. My drain is simply ran around the house to both sides and allowed to drain on the low side of the lot. So why would you run the water in to the basement only to pump it out. In the case of a power outage during a heavy downfall, this could lead to a flooded basement, yes ?
Never heard bringing water into a basement? 😮
It's common in the north. I see it in pretty much in every house
Good luck with that WHY THE FUCK whould you use corrugated and not SDR35... hack job for the longterm
Why are we having the water on the outside, come inside and then be pumped back outside 🤔 thats mind blowing
@@mikejungferman4744 Good question. Some homes built in areas with high water tables or improper elevation must have a way to control the ground water. Once the water is pumped out, it should continue into a drain tile that directs the water farther away. I have even seen them installed straight into the city street curb areas. Check out the video attachment of the sump pumping every minute. Thanks for the comment and for watching.
Capitalism is a racket.
I thought you were going to mention the super rusty looking pipe at the beginning of the video.
It can sometimes be a bad contactor.
I have the exact same water heater..Um do i have to worry sbout these exploding? My room is only a few feet from mines 🙃
@@Quanboyadvanced no worries there should be a pressure relief valve on it to release pressure. Thanks for watching
Who don't know that you dee da dee tarter sauced
There is a perforated pipe (french drain) at the footing, concrete basement walls are sprayed with tar and delta membrane installed on the exterior. Rain and ground water goes on delta membrane, which sips it in the perforated pipe. Perforated pipe drains the water in the sump pit. Sump pomps now days have a backup battery, in case of power outages.
@@DimX81 Yes! Exactly. Check out the other video attached about " sump pump running every minute" Thanks for watching and the comment.
Yeah what happens when the pump quits or power isn’t available. With proper grading you don’t need a pump.
@@Got2no This has city water which allows the capability of backflow pressure from the city. There are many homes built in areas of "high water table and improper elevation areas". A homes property may not always be available for natural run off. Watch the video clip attached, "home built by a pond" ua-cam.com/video/n2_hVf9KGuM/v-deo.htmlsi=z1Rr0agkWaj3VIsn Thanks for watching

😬
Jesus Christ
Then they never tell the HO about it and they have no idea they should replace the pump every 5-7 years
Your dream tile should go around the house and exit downslope. No pump/sump, and no water being brought into your basement!
@@chadcleaver2862 Using no electric for a sump pump is the best. And tiles existing downward is very typical on walk outs. However Elevation and location of a foundation always determine if a sump pit will be needed. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
@@inspectflixno code ever says put a perimeter drain into basement. Ever. Ever. Think stupid you would be better off not having one. Smfh. That drain was supposed to be leaving the basement and was pitched back asswards. Idiots
Who in their right mind would bring the water into the house just to pump it back out. That just makes no logical sense to me
@@jonathanlewis478 check out up codes . Com People like to build homes in locations that do not allow natural downward run off. Also in areas of high water table and improper elevation. This video was made in Michigan where we do have lots of water, muck and low level areas. Thanks for watching
@@jonathanlewis478 Also, watch the video attachment below and why they need a sump pump with a house built next to a pond.
